Ho Rui An is an artist and writer working in the intersections of contemporary art, cinema, theory and fiction writing. Considering himself a researcher and interlocutor of the social, cultural and institutional lives of aesthetic things, his practice often involves constructing new situations around existing images, through which notions of transmission, community and incommensurability are negotiated. His projects are variously realised as stories, essays, talks, conversations, images and films. In 2011, his first novel, Several Islands, was published by The Substation, Singapore.
