DURING BLUE WEEK 2015 IN LISBON, THE FRENCH INSTITUTE OF PORTUGAL HAS INVITED ANDRE ABREU, IN CHARGE OF ENVIRONMENT & CLIMATE POLICY FOR TARA EXPEDITIONS, TO GIVE A SERIES OF PUBLIC CONFERENCES AND PRESENT AN EXHIBITION. FREE ADMISSION FOR EVERYONE.

A few words about Andre Abreu de Almeida:
Born in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) in 1973, Andre studied Philosophy and Social Communication in Rio then specialized in International Relations and Economic Development at Sorbonne University, in Paris. He has been working on international cooperation projects in the field of Environment since 1998. In 2003, he joined the France Libertés Foundation in Paris. Lecturer and specialist invited to diverse conferences and meetings – UNESCO (2003), the European Parliament (2007) and several United Nations (UN) commissions. In 2011, he participated in the preparation of the waste management national plan as an expert for the Brazilian Ministry of Environment. In 2011, he joined the Tara Expeditions team with the long-term mission of developing an advocacy strategy concerning the major ecological challenges confronting the sea. In 2011 and 2012, he was the Tara Expeditions representative during negotiations that took place at the UN Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20). Andre is fluent in Portuguese, French, English and Spanish.
