Stephanie Januskiewicz was born in Normandy in 1974. She studied graphic arts at the Ecole Olivier de Serres, and became artistic director and photographer in the fields of publishing and advertising in Paris. Passionate about travel and the sea, she sails all over world whenever she can. In spring 2012, a transatlantic crossing from Cape Town to Rio made her aware of the importance of marine biodiversity. Stephanie then decided to use her savoir-faire to help protect the ocean.
In July 2013, she was artist-in-residence aboard Tara during the Tara Oceans Polar Circle expedition.
From Murmansk to Dudinka, she drew and photographed the daily life of the scientists and the exceptional environment surrounding them – the Arctic. Stephanie has one main objective: to capture the essence of this unusual adventure, and share it with the greatest number of people, through the creation of a children’s book for example.
