The Air France Foundation is driven by the conviction that access to education is the best way to equip individuals for life’s great journey.
Since it was set up in 1992, the Air France Foundation has been supporting children in need, a cause close to the heart of company staff. It finances educational projects helping children and young people who are sick, disabled or in great difficulty, in France and in countries where Air France operates.
Aware of the importance of protecting the environment, the Air France Foundation is adapting its projects while maintaining its guiding principle of supporting children. Over the past two years, it has also been supporting environmental education projects through educational and learning initiatives contributing to new behaviours and the understanding of climate issues. It is also actively involved with associations committed to preserving biodiversity with awareness and training projects on sustainable practices that respect natural resources.
This is how the partnership between the Air France Foundation and the Tara Ocean Foundation came into being, based on sharing strong educational values and a joint ambition of encouraging commitment to eco-responsible behaviour, by raising awareness and empowering the younger generation through the “Operation plastic” participatory science programme.
For the past 28 years, the Air France Foundation has helped bring some 1,516 projects to fruition in France and worldwide, thanks to its strong ties with charities and the support of company staff. The Friends of the Air France Foundation network currently involves over 4,800 agents in numerous volunteer initiatives, skill sponsorship programmes and donation events.
