LECOB laboratory studies benthic ecosystems and their interfaces, from the coast to the abyss, through interactions between communities of organisms and their environment. It includes the description of the mechanisms for predicting their role in establishing and maintaining biodiversity, the processes of matter transformation, and the transfer of energy and pollutants into marine ecosystems. More specifically, one of LECOB’s research focuses on the response of marine organisms (bivalves, corals) subjected to plastic stress in order to evaluate their resilience capacity.
